If they ever make a time machine you'll know who not to kill.

It's really hard to say. There are a lot of inventers who's contributions had earth moving effects, from michelangelo, galileo, to archimedes. However, one can't be sure that their discoveries wouldn't be deduced by someone else. I suppose you would have to pick someone that was in the right place, and the right time, for the right reasons. Like a Churchill, or a Washington. What would history be like if a weak man had been PM of England during Dunkirk and the blitz and had simply surrendered to the Germans? Or the world today if the USA was not around and was just a small disjointed set of British colonies?

Or prevent another evil time traveler from killing.

Or any of your ancestors....

Charles Martel Jan Sobieski
Louis Pasteur Edvard Jenner Alexander Fleming
Martin Luther
But I think, even if they were killed, somebody else would replace them in their task. When times are right, the solution comes, one way or another.

Winston Churchill

All of human history - Julius Caesar.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Ya beat me to it.  This is the correct answer I think.

Abraham Lincoln

Jesus... only I'd make it stick.

I don't want to derail this topic; seriously, you think the whole human race is descended from merely a couple?

All right, then the snake.

How about going back in time to kill the inventor of the time machine?
Wouldn't that destroy the multiverse or something?
